It’s nearly a ritual to visit “Rhone Glacier” at summer end and having fun rope down and climbing some crevasse. This glacier is easy to reach. Just heading to the “Furka” mountain pass, near hotel “Bellevue” you will find a parking space where you can easy leave your car during the day.
Just after some minutes by feet you reach the glacier snout, there is the entrance to the ice-cave (you do not have to pay entrance for this one if you do not enter there, just tell this at the entrance to the cashier). After a few meters on the glacier there is a bigger crevasse zone. (see the map link below).
Note, you will have the best condition for this during the summer and with a snowless glacier.
